USERS REVIEWS:
I bought this Holmes oil-filled radiator at our regional store. I have owned many different manufacturers of oil-filled heaters over the years. My very first 1 was a Lakewood and it was an outstanding heater. They do not appear to be available any longer. My second was a Honeywell with digital controls, likewise an outstanding heater whilst it lasted. I also attempted and returned two different DeLonghi heaters. Each DeLonghi heaters continued to put out irritating fumes even right after the break in period. Alas, that was also the fate of this Holmes heater.
I unboxed the Holmes and set it outside, plugged it into the outside outlet and let it run on massive for more than an hour. When I brought it inside it was still putting out fumes, but they did not appear as well noxious – just a low level odor of warm plastic. My mistake. By bedtime, I did not feel so very good. The subsequent morning I awoke with a headache. When I left the home my headache went away. When I came back, so did the headache. I turned the heater down to the 900 watt setting so I could not detect any a lot more odor even so, the up coming day my headache was considerably worse and I was feeling nauseated. The Holmes was packed up and returned instantly!
I’m sticking with the Honeywell HZ-709, also readily available at Target. I brought one residence and cranked it up the identical day I returned the Holmes. It’s running correct now and I am perfectly comfy. I swear it puts out a lot more heat. Greatest of all – no fumes! It fees far more, but it’s worth the value. Apparently Kaz (the producer) cares sufficient to use much superior high quality materials which can withstand the heat with no continually outgassing toxic fumes into the air you breathe. You can see my evaluation of the Honeywell on its product page. Honeywell HZ-709 7 Fin Oil Filled Radiator Heater with Digital Controls Thanks for reading my review(s). I hope they are helpful.
